Adoption Process

1. Adoption Application + $25 Processing Fee

To begin the process, prospective adopters must complete our online adoption application and submit a $25 non-refundable processing fee.
This fee covers a basic criminal background check and helps ensure applicants are serious about adopting.
📝 If you adopt, the $25 will be applied toward your final adoption fee.

2. Application Review + Background Screening

Our team carefully reviews each application to ensure a great match between the pet and adopter. We also conduct a basic background check and may reach out for additional clarification if needed.

3. Home Check

As part of our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our animals, a home check is required prior to adoption approval. This may be done in person or virtually, depending on location and availability.

4. Schedule Meet & Greet

Once approved, we schedule a meet and greet between the adopter and the animal(s) of interest. This helps determine compatibility and allows everyone to ask questions before proceeding.

5. Adoption Decision

After the meet and greet, adopters may choose from two options:

• Adopt on the Spot: Complete paperwork and take your new pet home the same day.
  
  

• 1-Week Home Trial: Prefer to be sure? Try a 1-week trial to see how your pet adjusts to your home and lifestyle.
  
  

6. Finalize Adoption

If the trial goes well, we finalize the adoption. Adopters complete the final paperwork and pay the remaining adoption fee (minus the $25 already paid).

7. Ongoing Support

We stay connected! All adopters receive support and resources to help with training, veterinary care, and the transition process. We want every match to be successful and lasting.
